The short answer

Trendyol Shopify integration is the automatic transfer of products, stock and prices from your Shopify store to Trendyol, and of Trendyol orders back into Shopify (and from there into your ERP). The connection is built through a middleware layer between the Trendyol Seller API and the Shopify GraphQL Admin API and webhooks; Shopify becomes the single source for products and stock, and Trendyol works as a sales channel.

The hardest part of a Trendyol integration is not the technical connection but mapping products to Trendyol's category, brand and attribute structure. With an off-the-shelf integrator you can go live in 2–4 weeks; catalogues with thousands of variants and custom pricing rules take 6–10 weeks with custom development.

This guide draws on the field experience of Byte Digital, a Shopify Plus Partner that has served Shopify brands for 7 years.

Which data is synchronised between Trendyol and Shopify?

Products, stock and prices flow from Shopify to Trendyol; orders, cancellations and returns flow from Trendyol to Shopify. The tracking number and invoice link are sent back to Trendyol once the order is prepared.

Trendyol-specific rules: where integrations get difficult

Trendyol expects products according to its own category tree, brand list and category-specific attribute set. According to Trendyol's developer documentation, brands, categories, category attributes and attribute values must be fetched from the relevant services before products are uploaded, and successfully uploaded products enter an approval process (Trendyol Developers).

  • Category and attribute mapping: A "Dresses" collection in Shopify must correspond to a specific category ID on Trendyol and that category's mandatory attributes (fabric, fit, neckline and so on). This mapping is set up once and stored in the middleware.

  • Variant structure: Trendyol groups variants under a shared main product code (productMainId); each variant is sent with its own barcode and stock code. Shopify's size-colour structure has to be translated correctly into this model.

  • Brand: Products must be linked to a brand on Trendyol's brand list; if your own brand is not listed, you apply for it first.

  • Bulk and asynchronous processing: A product upload request accepts up to 1,000 products at a time and does not return the result immediately; the result must be checked separately with the returned batch ID. A good integration reports rejected products together with the reason.

  • Price rule: The list price cannot be lower than the sale price; for products without a compare-at price in Shopify, this field should be filled with the sale price.

  • Invoice: An invoice link or file must be sent to Trendyol for every shipped package. If the invoice comes from your ERP or e-invoice provider, the middleware picks up the link and attaches it to the right package.

  • Shipping: If you use Trendyol's contracted carriers, the label and tracking number are created on Trendyol's side; if you ship with your own carrier agreement, the tracking number is passed from Shopify to Trendyol.

Trendyol Shopify integration methods

An off-the-shelf integrator suits a single marketplace and a standard catalogue, a multichannel platform suits several marketplaces, and custom middleware is the right choice for ERP-connected setups and custom rules.

Hosting + maintenance

Whichever method you choose, the architecture we recommend is the same: Shopify is the single hub. Product content and stock are managed in Shopify, Trendyol orders land in Shopify with a channel tag, and the ERP takes orders from Shopify. Stock is deducted in one place, there is no overselling between channels, and a single ERP integration is enough.

Connecting Trendyol directly to the ERP and Shopify separately to the ERP is also possible, but stock is then deducted through two separate integrations and the risk of mismatches rises on campaign days. For brands using Nebim, Logo or Mikro, running the ERP connection through Shopify as well removes this risk.

Stock, pricing and commission management

Profitable selling on Trendyol comes from channel-specific pricing, not from copying the Shopify price one to one.

  • Channel-specific price: Because of commission, shipping and campaign contributions, the Trendyol price usually needs to differ from the Shopify price. The most practical approach is a variant-level "Trendyol price" metafield in Shopify or a category-based multiplier in the middleware (for example, 12% plus shipping).

  • Safety stock: Instead of exposing all Shopify stock to Trendyol, keeping a buffer of 1–2 units on critical products reduces the risk of cancellations when orders arrive from two channels at once.

  • Campaigns: For products in Trendyol campaigns, the price can also change from the Trendyol panel. The integration should be set up so it does not overwrite the price during the campaign.

  • Taking products off sale: Out-of-stock products should not be deleted; set the stock to zero or archive them, because deleting a product loses its reviews and sales history.

  • Reconciliation: Trendyol payouts and commission deductions are tracked through the account statement. Passing this data into accounting can be planned as a separate flow.

Trendyol Shopify integration step by step: timeline and cost

2–4 weeks with an off-the-shelf integrator, 6–10 weeks with custom development; most of the time goes into category and attribute mapping.

  1. Preparation (1 week): Trendyol seller account, brand approval, API credentials, shipping and return addresses; IP authorisation request for the test environment.

  2. Catalogue mapping (1–3 weeks): Mapping Shopify collections to Trendyol categories and product attributes to Trendyol attribute values; completing missing barcodes and attributes.

  3. Development or setup (1–4 weeks): Product and stock upload, order flow, shipping and invoice feedback.

  4. Pilot launch (1 week): Go live with 20–50 products first; review approval results and the errors on rejected products.

  5. Full catalogue and monitoring (1–2 weeks): The remaining products are uploaded; order and stock errors are reported daily.

The main cost drivers are the number of products and variants, category variety (every new category means a new attribute mapping), whether the ERP is part of the process, channel-specific pricing rules, and whether other marketplaces will be added to the same integration.

The 6 most common mistakes in Trendyol Shopify integration

On Trendyol, most problems appear not during the first product upload but in stock and price management once sales begin.

  1. Deducting stock in two places: If Trendyol is connected to the ERP and Shopify separately to the ERP, the same item can be sold on both channels. Stock must be managed from one hub.

  2. Sending the Shopify price as is: If commission and shipping are not factored in, Trendyol sales can run at a loss.

  3. Not checking batch results: Product uploads run asynchronously; unchecked products may have been rejected silently.

  4. Sending products without barcodes: The barcode is the product's identity on Trendyol. Products without barcodes, or with barcodes that change later, create duplicate records.

  5. Not automating the invoice link: If invoices are uploaded by hand, they are delayed on busy days and order performance drops.

  6. Not adapting product descriptions for Trendyol: SEO copy written for Shopify may not suit Trendyol's search logic. The title should include the brand, product type and a key attribute.

Frequently asked questions

Can Shopify be integrated with Trendyol?

Yes. A Shopify store can be connected to Trendyol through the Trendyol Seller API, either with an off-the-shelf integrator or with custom middleware. Products, stock and prices flow automatically from Shopify to Trendyol; orders flow from Trendyol to Shopify.

How long does a Trendyol integration take?

With an off-the-shelf integrator, a standard catalogue goes live in 2–4 weeks. With an ERP connection, channel-specific pricing rules or many categories, custom development takes 6–10 weeks.

Do Trendyol orders land in Shopify?

They should. Passing orders into Shopify with a channel tag means stock is deducted in one place and the ERP receives all orders from a single source.

Why are products sent to Trendyol rejected?

The most common reasons are missing mandatory category attributes, an unapproved brand, a wrong barcode and photos that do not meet the image rules. The integration should report rejected products together with the reason.

Can the Trendyol price differ from the Shopify price?

Yes, and it usually should. Because of commission and shipping, a Trendyol-specific price is managed with a variant-level field or a category-based multiplier.

How is the Trendyol invoice sent?

An invoice link or file is sent to Trendyol for every shipped package. If the invoice comes from your ERP or e-invoice provider, this step can be automated by the integration.
